I might be completely off when i say this but maybe he was using you as a replacement for his loss and now that he has gone past it he decided to move on. Or, someone found out that there was a teacher-student relationship and the principal warned him of it. Or maybe he just feels guilty if he takes you since he’s practically 20 years older than you + he was married and you are not.
