agnes

Sometimes it is hard to tell what causes shinn splints. It could be bad form, bad shoes or hard ground. I had them at one point and it was the shoes, a good pair with more support solved it. It probably wouldn't hurt to use a pain reliever.

patrick

if you are running you should take shorter strides, and quicker steps, and that will help keep the shin splints from getting worse. it is an overuse injury and you might have been landing too much on your heels instead of the balls of your feet when you run. I put arch support insoles into my shoes when I run, and it usually helps. Good luck.

lynne

i had shin splints during track last year, ooooohhh they hurt
i started putting my legs in ice water, but it didn't really work
neither did pain killers
i just ran all track season with shin splints, it was cause i didn't use running shoes at practice lol
u just have to let them rest, for a long time, couple weeks
other than that i don't know, but yeah it hurts
