well running burns more calories than anything as far as time goes. but next is sex, *** burns alot as well. as far as the best exercise to do indoors i would have to recommend 5-15 min jumping jacks, followed by push ups and sit ups. whole routine takes less than 20 minutes and will kick your ass
Since you said that skiing is out of the question, I am assuming that you can leave your home. Walking in a mall is a choice, if there is one near you. Many open early just for that purpose: people, especially older people in their 70’s and 80’s, are religious about walking in the malls. I see them there all year ’round.
Do you have cable television? They offer different aerobic exercises and some use weights. If you do not have weights at home, you can improvise. Food cans, water jugs, etc can work. Look around your house; you’ll be surprised at what you can find.
Or just put on some music and move it.. that works, too. You will need to monitor your heart rate. Go one line and look up ‘aerobics’. You will get a lot of info. including target heart rate zones.
